Prince Harry of Wales
Prince Harry of Wales is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He is third in the line of succession, behind his father and brother, to the thrones of the sixteen independent states of the British Commonwealth, although he is resident in and most directly involved with the United Kingdom, the oldest of these realms. His older brother, Prince William, is second in line to the throne.

Prince Harry was born on September 15, 1984 and baptized Prince Henry Charles Albert David. After attending Mrs. Mynors and Wetherby Schools, Harry joined his brother Prince William at Ludgrove School. In September 1998, he began his studies at Eton College.

After graduating, Harry visited Africa. Touched by the plight of Lesotho’s orphans, he co-founded Sentebale (“Forget-Me-Not”), one of six charitable organizations of which he is patron.

Their Royal Highnesses, Princes William and Harry of Wales of the House of Windsor, in a their military uniforms. In 2005, Harry returned to his studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment (serving temporarily with his brother) and completed his training as a tank commander. He served for 77 days on the front line in the Afghanistan War, although he was pulled out following publication of a story in an Australian magazine exposing his position. After being promoted to First Lieutenant, Harry began training to become a full-time Army Air Corps helicopter pilot in 2009.

Prince Harry is a keen sportsman who also enjoys off-road motor-biking. In October 2008, he and Prince William began a 1,000-mile trek across South Africa to raise funds for Sentebale, UNICEF, and The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. Prince Harry is an active philanthropist and athlete who regularly joins his brother to play in polo matches through which money is raised for various charities.

Harry served as his brother, Prince William's, best man at William's wedding to Kate Middleton in May, 2011.

The Prince Harry $15 Ultra High Relief Silver Proof is the first issue in the Continuity of the Crown, which commemorates the three princes of the Royal House of Windsor in line of succession to the throne. The individual portrait of each prince is struck in ultra high, medallic quality relief.

Investment Note
Here's a coin with a lot of investment potential, to say nothing of cachet! The Continuity of the Crown silver proofs follow hot on the heels of the highly successful Vignettes of Royalty Series, which featured two firsts:
     1)  It was the first series of ultra high relief Canadian coins!
     2)  It was the first series of double-effigy coins in Canadian history!
These are therefore only the second series of double headed coins struck by the Royal Canadian Mint! Couple this with the very low mintage of only 10,000 and the unusual $15 denomination, and this looks like a sure winner.

This photo shows the ultra high relief nature of the 2011 $15 Silver Proof from Canada commemorating Prince Harry of Wales, in the Continuity of the Crown coin program series.Technical Note
The Royal Canadian Mint is applying its expertise in the design, engraving and striking of medals and medallic art to this special series of coins. Each will feature a portrait struck in ultra high medallic relief. Each planchet or blank is individually hand-polished before it is quadruple-struck. The edge of the coin is plain, not reeded, unlike most Canadian commemorative and collector coins, in keeping with its medallic nature. Slight differences in the frosted cameo relief and proof-like fields are normal for this high-relief striking process, just as they are with high relief medals.
