Product Description

An absolutely stunning exemplar of the 1850-A, first year of issue, seminal Swiss silver franc, in a superb state of preservation and with eye appeal to match. Graded MS65 by PCGS, in an old green holder (OGH).

Sold out at the Mint!An absolutely stunning exemplar of this first year of issue of the seminal Swiss silver franc, in a superb state of preservation and with eye appeal to match. It's hard to imagine a more perfect or better looking example, sporting as it does full cartwheel luster on each side. Color is bright white, pristine and flashy. Graded MS65 by PCGS, in an old green holder, this particular franc would seem to be at least one point (if not two) undergraded; it looks like a 67 to us. Technically, the surfaces appear nearly perfect to the naked eye, with only a couple of tiny ticks visible under a glass. This will be the pride and joy of some discriminating investor's collection.

KM #9. First year of issue for this beautiful design, the Seated Helvetia. Struck by Monnaie de Paris at the Paris Mint (A mint mark). Designed by Friedrich Fisch, engraved by Antoine Bovy.
