When the first humans arrived on the Australian continent, giants roamed the land. Today, all of these huge creatures, known as megafauna, are extinct. Modern day experts believe that some of these massive monsters could actually be referenced in the stories about the Dreamtime by native Australian aborigines - dating back tens of thousands of years! Talisman Coins and the Perth Mint (Australia's precious metals experts) are proud to bring you the new Extinct Australian Megafauna program. Each animal is minted on a low-mintage, pure silver dollar and presented in full, frosted cameo proof finish, against a backdrop of splendid color portraying its native habitat. Heed our advice - get one (or more) of each of these colorful, one ounce, pure silver dollars and this great display box while you can!

The five boxes of the Extinct Australian Megafuana series
A Novel Concept
Another clever innovation (and a neat little bonus!) is the colorfully illustrated outer box shipper for each coin. Each full-color scene features the extinct Australian giant in a fantastical setting, five in all. Each is an original commission, an original work of art executed by prehistoric monsters artist Peter Trusler. When lined-up in release order, the outer boxes will form a gallery of original artworks of the five extinct beasts. The special five coin display box allows one to show off the full collection of the Extinct Australian Megafauna program. This is a superb way to protect and present all five coins in their full color, illustrated cases. This listing is for this display box only; no coins are included with the display box and must be purchased separately.
