Product Description

Celebrate the loyalty and success of the Year of the Rooster in 2017 with this charming vignette of a rooster, a mother hen, and their three baby chicks on this large, low mintage, one troy ounce pure silver dollar!

This large, impressive coins represents a tremendous value, struck in pure silver! The Perth Mint's Lunar Zodiac Series II coins are huge! At more than 45 mm in diameter, they are nearly 2 inches across! This beauty is made all the more desirable by the Mint's execution of this intriguing animal motif in pure silver! The Perth Mint refers to this as their specimen finish. It's much nicer than an ordinary coin - the mirrored design is highlighted on frosted, matte fields (or background). We would therefore refer to this as a "Reverse Proof" or "Reverse Proof-Like" finish. Between the size and beauty of the finish, we think you'll be impressed with this affordable, pure silver dollarThe specimen finish or reverse proof silver dollars sell out quickly every year - we urge immediate action!

The rooster with brightly colored plumage crowing. The Year of the Rooster - Loyal, Attractive and Accomplished!
Those born in the years 1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, and 2017 celebrate the Year of the Rooster. According to tradition, people born during a Year of the Rooster are said to exhibit that animal’s attributes. They are observant, brave, resilient, attractive, and tenacious, but can also be self-absorbed and overly romantic.

Rooster people are very observant. Most of the time, they are precise and accurate with their observations. You can say that Roosters have a very keen "sixth sense". It is not an easy task to fool the Rooster. Their mind is cautious and skeptical. Gifted with perception, Roosters make excellent trouble shooters, detectives, fixers, bagmen, doctors, nurses and psychiatrists.

With Roosters, what you see is exactly what you get; they are straightforward and forthright. Roosters like to appear attractive and beautifully turned out. They are sociable and love to receive attention. The Rooster likes to be noticed and flattered. They might dress a little nattily with this in mind, but in their heart, they are usually conservative. Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, whether at a party or just a social gathering. They enjoy the spotlight and will exhibit their charm at the drop of a hat.

A beautifully colored rooster struts proudly.Roosters are always up, out and doing things. They are extremely motivated, the most motivated of all the animals of the Chinese Lunar Zodiac. You rarely see a relaxed rooster that sits quietly on the couch doing nothing. They are also multi-talented, and can become accomplished in many different ways. Because they are hardworking, resourceful, courageous and talented, Roosters are typically confident about themselves.

Roosters are loyal and they make devoted friends. They keep their promises and are true to their word. Sensitive individuals may find it hard to get along well with Roosters, because they can brag about themselves and their accomplishments, which may make other, less accomplished, animals uncomfortable. The Seattle grunge band Alice in Chains had an early alternative radio and mainstream rock hit with their song "Rooster" back in 1992. It was about an infantry soldier grunt's experiences during the Vietnam War. Now you know.

This is the tenth annual release in the Lunar Zodiac Series II from Australia!

A rooster (the cock of the walk), a mother hen, and their three baby chicks enjoy the good life. The legend YEAR OF THE ROOSTER defines the theme. The Chinese character for "Rooster" is above the hen, while the Perth Mint's "P" mint mark is judiciously placed to the left, near the 9:00 position along the rim.
