Investment Opportunity!Talisman Coins and the Perth Mint are excited to announce this stunning, limited edition Pink Panther pink diamond ingot, struck from one troy ounce of 22-karat (91.67% pure) pink gold alloyed with copper. The ingot is set with not one, but two, exceedingly rare Argyle pink diamonds. Only 300 of these ingots will ever be minted.

The Pink Panther made his debut in the 1963 comedy-mystery film of the same name. He proved so popular with audiences that a spin-off series of theatrical shorts was produced with the Pink Panther in the starring role. The original movie starring the late Peter Sellers and the svelte cartoon cat inspired many sequels, books, animated series and a variety of merchandise. Henry Mancini’s jazz theme won three Grammy Awards and has become one of the best loved tunes in cinematic history.

The Design
The obverse of each ingot depicts the suave and sophisticated Pink Panther character hovering around a stunning, hand set Argyle pink diamond. He is ready to boost or lift this rare gemstone. The Pink Panther’s tail appears to wrap around to the reverse side of the ingot. The design also includes the famous Pink Panther logo.

Each ingot’s reverse depicts the tip of the Pink Panther’s tail, set amidst a number of iconic Pink Panther graphics. A second, beautiful Argyle pink diamond is set inside an engraving of a diamond, with the individual serial number (out of the 300 total) indicated and engraved above.

Each diamond (front and back) will weigh approximately .08 carat (8 points) and will color grade Fancy Pink to Fancy Purplish Pink.

Each ingot is housed in a stunning black presentation case designed to look like a vault, within a Pink Panther themed shipper. When opened, the case reveals a diamond shaped acrylic display stand, which also makes a stunning standalone piece. Each ingot is accompanied by an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 300 1oz pink diamond ingots.

Pink Diamonds - So, So Rare!
Pink diamond is a type of diamond which has all the same elements as more commonly known diamonds except that they also exhibit pink color. The source of their pink color is greatly debated in the gemological world but it is most commonly attributed to enormous additional pressure that these diamonds undergo during their formation.

The Argyle diamond mine is located in north of Western Australia. It produces over 90 percent of the world's pink diamonds, which are truly rare: just 0.1% of diamonds from this mine are classified as pink! The pink diamond comes in shades ranging from a pastel rose, such as the Pink Orchid, to intense purple-reds such as the Moussaieff Red Diamond. The price is determined by the intensity of the color. Pink diamonds have sold for up to $1,000,000 per carat! Unlike the Type I diamonds, which derive their color from impurities, pink diamonds are Type II and get their color from extraordinarily intense geological pressures in a process known as plastic deformation.

The Graff Pink, a rare 24.78 carat pink diamond, once owned by American celebrity jeweler Harry Winston, has been described as "one of the greatest diamonds ever discovered". The diamond, mounted in a ring, was sold by Sotheby's auctioneers in Geneva, Switzerland on 16 November 2010. Before its sale, the stone was expected to enter the list of the top ten most expensive diamonds in the world. However, upon selling for US $46 million (£29 million), it became the most expensive single jewel ever sold at auction!
