Sold out at the Mint!Pope John Paul II ProfileDuring his papal reign, Pope John Paul II made more trips and traveled to more countries than any previous pope, including to many countries no pope had ever previously visited. All told, he voyaged to almost 130 countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo. To commemorate that visit, as well as his pontificate and his life, the Congo authorized this special issue, four coin set of 1 franc coins, showing four different portraits of Karol Wojtyla as he appeared at the milestones of his ministry.
